Position Type: Full-Time, Minimum 40 hours/week. Salary + Benefits. Reports to General Manager.
Position Summary:
The Promotions and Marketing Director leads a team working with sales and program directors to increase revenue and ratings across stations. We seek a self-motivated, high-achieving individual with excellent communication and organizational skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement promotional, marketing, and event concepts for the Boise Lotus 4 Station Cluster.
- Represent stations at community events and promotions.
- Collaborate with Program Directors on on-air contests, client promotions, station events, and website promotions.
- Coordinate between Programming and Sales Departments to develop station campaigns and marketing strategies.
- Enhance sales activities through creative event promotions and partnerships with local and national businesses.
- Improve station visibility and community engagement to attract listeners and clients.
- Manage and train a team of five+ part-time employees for sales and station events.
- Oversee daily operations within the Promotions Department.
- Develop and execute ratings and revenue-generating promotions.
- Manage production, ticket sales, and marketing for major station events and concerts.
- Supervise contests and listener events with Program Directors.
- Meet deadlines and coordinate station appearances and equipment needs.
- Act as liaison during events, troubleshoot issues, and work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Establish relationships with local promoters and media outlets.
- Write press releases and promote station events through media.
- Manage the Promotions and Marketing budget for four radio stations.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or business administration, or equivalent experience with management background.
- Flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Bilingual skills preferred.
- Self-starter with effective team and independent work skills.
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent time management, organizational, and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and experienced in staff hiring, training, and management.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
Preferred Skills:
Additional skills and experience preferred but not mandatory.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift/move 50+ pounds, stand for long periods, and travel to station events and client sites. Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, insurance, and registration are required.
