YOUR ROLE IN CREATING GERONIMOMENTS
In this role, you'll be a key part of our team, ensuring that every guest leaves with a lasting impression. Your voice matters here-use it to build the future, make an impact, and continuously improve the guest experience.
As the Public Relations Specialist, your responsiblities will include public relations planning; storyline development; media pitching across online, print and broadcast media outlets; media monitoring and reporting; media interview training and prep; influencer relations; media event planning and execution; and copywriting that includes but is not limited to press releases, award nominations, op-eds, e-blast copy, and strategy documents.
WHAT YOUR DAY WILL LOOK LIKE
- Write press materials (press releases, media alerts, interview prep sheets) and bylined articles for news outlets
- Prepare interesting written copy for blogs, collateral, website, etc.
- Research key media in Geronimo markets and maintain media database
- Research and pull editorial calendars from trade and national publications and outline opportunities
- Proactively identify opportunities for awards and recognition. Develop and manage submissions
- Find social media influencers to promote the brands, manage influencer database, coordinate influencer visits
- Assist with media event coordination (grand openings, press conferences, media days, VIP tours, etc.)
- Pitch to local, regional, and national media outlets to secure ongoing coverage
- Assist with media training and interview prep for internal team members
- Attend media interviews and events, as needed, across all markets
- Analyze, review, and report on press placements and blog performance (Agility PR Solutions, Google Analytics)
- Assist Director of Public Relations with planning, storyline development, media outreach and follow up to secure stories

Requirements
WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED
Education
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent or 3-5 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience and/or Training
- A minimum 3-5 years of media relations, public relations, marketing, sales, journalism, or partnership relations/development experience.
- Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills
- Creative abilities
- Ability to adapt quickly to varying situations, make quick decisions, and take appropriate actions
- Excellent project management
- Display effective time management skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to providing high quality work
- Participation in team and client meetings
- Willingness to continue education/ training in emerging areas
- Ability to work independently and as a team
- Must be an excellent problem solver
- Must be available to work nights or weekends based on event needs.
Technology/Equipment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software
