Your role:
The Global Marketing and Design team supports the creative strategy and execution across global business functions to reach clients around the world. We produce high-quality videos, podcasts, live streaming, interviews, webinars, and more to support all aspects of live and recorded media.
We are looking for a Global Broadcast and Production Director with a deep understanding and expertise in audio and video production. Working very closely with the design team, this individual will continuously enhance the look and feel of all multimedia content produced; stay up to date on new capabilities; implement brand standards; manage our recording capacity/calendar while meeting stakeholders’ needs; and be able to educate stakeholders about quality equipment, along with best practices and analytics.
This is a permanent leadership position in the broadcast and production function, overseeing a global team of four (soon to be eight) team members who are based in New York, Vancouver, and London.
Your responsibilities:
- To be an expert in broadcast quality equipment and streaming media. This role will establish a new, fully functioning studio in the Global Relay New York office and manage its maintenance.
- Develop and produce video, podcasts, and webinars.
- Use industry standard software and related technologies (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite).
- Explore common design problems and seeks creative solutions.
- Help communicate and coordinate recording plans for all Global locations, as well as hiring and liaising with third parties where appropriate.
- Manage the Global Relay Video team to:
- Capture video and audio in broadcast quality.
- Edit video and audio with enhanced graphic and video support visuals.
- Transfer edited video to those who need access.
- Archive final version of video.
- Work very closely with the events managers and the design team in each region to film and livestream our events and webinars.
- Oversee the rollout of new capabilities in the main studio in New York, working across product areas and content teams to facilitate production services.
- Proactively identify opportunities for video content creation.
- Coordinate others when/where applicable, as related to media projects. For example, the type and angle of shots gathered for various projects.
- Navigate and possess a basic understanding of Global Relay’s proprietary systems and software.
- Manage their direct reports, including performance reviews, regular 1:1s and other leadership and administrative tasks.
- Own and govern formal processes for engagement, production, and delivery, as well as ensuring appropriate consideration around security and legal concerns.
- Oversee hiring and retention within the department.
- Organize and present key data points to help champion improved personalization and customization, utilizing the latest technologies.
- Inspire and nurture creativity within the team.
- Excellent line management experience of teams of 4+
- 10+ years of Broadcast and Production experience and 5+ years of experience in a leadership role
- Experience in Financial Services is an advantage, but not a pre-requisite
- Proficient in video creation and editing with tools such as Adobe Premier, Photoshop, and After Effects, (Adobe Creative Cloud), Davinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, AVID, Camtasia, Premiere, After Effects, Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Experience with BlackMagic Design hardware such as Cameras, hyperdecks, ATEM switchers and consoles, fairlight consoles, colour grading consoles etc.
- Comfortable working directly with clients/partners to explore briefs and execute shoots.
- Strong skillset in Adobe Premiere and Microsoft PowerPoint, as well as good understanding of video equipment and studio environment.

Compensation: Global Relay advertises the pay range for this role in compliance with applicable pay transparency laws. Individual pay rates are determined by evaluating factors such as expertise, skills, education, and professional background.
