Job Description
- Responsible for key operational controllership processes related to participations and residuals, including production of participant statements, ensuring timely processing of payments, establishing and reviewing reserves, and managing the audit process.
- Work closely with TV Networks operational finance and legal teams to ensure clear understanding of contractual requirements and relevant production and monetization activities.
- Review monthly journal entries and account reconciliations, ensuring all necessary adjustments and true-ups are reflected accurately and promptly.
- Oversee that all transactions are recorded, documented, reviewed, and supported in accordance with company policies, generally accepted accounting principles, and SOX controls.
- Be a key member of the TV Networks controllership team, supporting the finance organization on reporting and control issues.
- Assess the control environment through review of control activities; identify and focus on improvement opportunities in high-risk areas.
- Participate in monthly/quarterly closing processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial information. Review financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flows) and oversee the preparation of schedules supporting external disclosures.
- Ensure operational and design effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting and support Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance.
- Involve in external and internal audits related to TV Networks' content.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation and delivery of all management reports, both regular and ad hoc.
- Mentor and develop staff through a supportive, collaborative approach: assign responsibilities, set objectives, establish priorities, and monitor results.
- Collaborate with the controllership team and IT on reporting system enhancements (e.g., amortization systems).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and at least 4 years of relevant experience.
- CPA certification required.
- Knowledge of general accounting practices and financial standards.
Hybrid Work Model: This position is hybrid, requiring a minimum of three days per week in the office, subject to change based on managerial and business needs.
