Is this your next job Read the full description below to find out, and do not hesitate to make an application.As the Vice President of Design; Product you will lead a team of 11 Designers with 5 direct reports. We will expect you to create commercially successful, relevant, and timeless apparel products. From product ideation to final pre-production prototypes, you will be responsible for the design vision in alignment with the Chief Creative Officer. You must also demonstrate leadership, and use creative & analytical skills to set a short-term and long-term strategy for your function and your people with clear goals. To this end, you will work closely with your cross-functional partners in Merchandising, Technical Design, Raw Material Sourcing, and Production. You will be reporting directly to the Chief Creative Officer.Your day-to-day:Brainstorm new product concepts with CCO, Merchandising partners, and cross-functional thought partners as well as the Design team.Design long-term products and initiate fabric development to satisfy long-term business needsTravel internationally and domestically for inspiration and fabric shows as needed.Strategically develop all Apparel and Accessories products in line with company targetsDesign and develop a quarterly briefed collection that supports the long-term product strategy as well as seeding new exciting products.Prepare and present quarterly sketch reviews both in larger presentations as well as deliver a Collection overview with Product positioning proposals for Marketing purposes.Guide team to achieve fit direction.Mentor, train, and develop direct reports.Collaborate closely with the CCO and the Design Director to manage calendar, budget, and team activities from weekly touch bases to off-site team buildingWe'd love to hear from you if you have:15+ years of experience designing Contemporary Apparel and Accessories.You have 5+ years of experience managing and mentoring teamsProven track record of building and developing collections and have worked at scaleDeep technical knowledge of developing fabrics including Denim development & yarns and an understanding of leather.High competency with fittings and ability to communicate clearly around fit intentStrong P.O.V on relevant trend
