Dewberry is seeking a Senior Building Automation System (BAS)/Controls Designer
for the MEP Group in our
Raleigh, NC office.

Typical project clients include commercial, local government, state, and federal entities located in the Southeastern U.S. Duties will include but not be limited to BAS/control system design, drawing production, specification writing, discipline coordination between the various design disciplines, shop drawing and submittal reviews, construction site reviews, and code reviews.Dewberrys Raleigh, NC office includes over 200 design professionals, including a large Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Structural (MEPS) Group focused on design services for clients in North Carolina, Virginia, and South Carolina. Our commitment to excellence stems from our personal integrity and from other defining attributes, which we call Dewberry at Work, that have inspired our employees to be successful for more than a half-century.Responsibilities:Develop project-specific control schematic,diagrams, sequences of operation, and specifications.Evaluate existing BAS and control systems for upgrade recommendations.Some project management including scoping work, scheduling resources, and estimating cost.Supervise small to medium-sized teams.Provide controls-related technical leadership to junior staff.Review BAS/control systems designed by others, interface with code officials and contractors, direct work with clients, and coordinate work with others within the Dewberry Family of Companies.Required Skills & Required Experience:
Four-year degree in engineering-related field preferred. High school diploma required.Professional Registration preferred.Minimum 10+ years directly applicable BAS/controls design experience required.Must have ability to generate big-picture ideas and solutions at the beginning stage of projects.Direct experience working with common BAS manufacturers systems and components JCI, Honeywell, Schneider Electric, Siemens, Distech, Niagara platform.Must have ability to execute BAS design projects from beginning to finish.Must have extensive knowledge of MEP systems and codes as they relate to control systems.Proficiency with AutoCAD/Revit.Excellent oral and written communication skills including experience in dealing with other employees and external clients.Ability to investigate and troubleshoot HVAC and control systems through clients front-end interface.Ability to provide controls-related technical leadership to teams of professional and non-professional staff.Working knowledge of industrial PLC/SCADA systemsExperience coordinating work schedules and preparing progress reports.Experience recommending changes in cost estimates and scopes of work when necessary.Ability to work under own direction and interface directly with the client.Pursuit of registrations, accreditations, and continuing education related to Dewberry areas of practice and candidates level of expertise will be encouraged.Some travel may be required.Dont meet every single requirement?
