September 3, 2024, 5:00 PM Arizona TimePosition Summary:The TLC Instructional Designer has a critical role working with the Executive Director of the TLC, and the TLC to perform group and individual faculty training and support. The instructional designer works with TLC staff to design, develop and maintain faculty professional learning in a variety of modalities including workshops, job aids, videos and online instructions. As part of a strategic support team, assists and supports disciplines in recommending design approaches.As part of the interview evaluation process, candidates will be asked to present a thirty-minute online workshop on a topic of their choice, directed at faculty and instructional staff.The work schedule for this position is flexible and may include working evenings and weekends and local travel.Duties and Responsibilities:Trains and supports faculty in the use of the learning management system (LMS), currently D2L, and demonstrates how to use LMS tools and methods effectively in the classroom.Develops and updates faculty professional learning materials, as well as other digital instructional information for delivery in online learning, hybrid courses, and face-to-face courses.Assists groups and individual faculty in defining course outcomes and objectives. Models and presents options for engaging, interactive, and instructionally sound materials that address diverse learning contexts and are accessible to all students, including those with disabilities.Designs and produces faculty learning materials in a variety of formats, including print, audio, video, animation, and multimedia, to support teaching, learning, and college initiatives related to student success.Collaborates with faculty and leadership in diverse disciplinary contexts, as well as TLC team members, web developers, media specialists, and digital media producers, to solve technological and institutional challenges in teaching and learning.May provide one-on-one instructional consultation and coaching to faculty.Learns new technologies and applications to assist faculty in course design.Completes professional development to keep current with rapid changes in technology and higher education.Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor.Job Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Educational Development, Instructional Design, or a closely related field of study
