To build Lakers brand affinity and the future fan pipeline by creating daily, engaging team content and leveraging digital platforms, while also helping other departments reach fans and publish their content via digital platforms.Position Summary:
The Video Producer is responsible for concepting, creating, shooting, and editing video content for Lakers, South Bay Lakers, Laker Girls, and Lakers Community; this includes website, app, in-arena, and social media properties within the Marketing + Comms department. The Video Producer is responsible for (i) turning around short and long form video clips, (ii) creating, editing, and monitoring all video content specific, but not limited, to team news and press conferences, organized events, corporate partnership needs, and community activities and (iii) supporting the growth of Lakers brands through video content.Essential Functions (Duties & Responsibilities):
Responsible for conceptualizing, planning, shooting, and editing of videoWork with other members of the Marketing + Comms Department to generate video content ideasPlan and capture video in a variety of settings, structured shoots, press conference, media sessions and team eventsEdit video utilizing graphics and effects integrating various elements including highlights, archival footage, voice over, sourced music, and interview footageShoot videos for Instagram/X/Facebook/YouTube/TikTokSet up lighting, audio equipment, and camera, including multi-camera shootsUpdating and posting video using NBA CMS and for social media propertiesKeep up with changes in videography including camera technology, related hardware and softwareWork closely with Marketing + Comms Department to ensure quality, consistency, and creative flow of the overall goalsAssist with other special projects, as neededResponsibilities subject to change based on organizational needs and direction from management.Education (Required/ Preferred):
Bachelor’s degree (preferred)Previous Experience:
A minimum of two to three (2-3) years working in film/video production; Sports experience preferredExperience with Canon Cinema EOS and Sony Cinema Line cameras preferredTechnology Capabilities:
Highly proficient in After Effects, Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, and Media EncoderMust have knowledge of lighting packages, filters, lenses, audio equipmentFamiliarity with social media platform video standardsKnowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environmentExcellent verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrated project management skills – must be able to conceptualize goals and execute projects according to rigorous deadlinesFlexible and adaptable, while maintaining high levels of productivity and effectiveness under pressureA passion for sports and an understanding of other sport cycles and operationsKnowledge of basic news gathering techniques with a high attention to detail and accuracy – willing to go the extra mile to validate factsDemonstrated high personal standards for work, presenting the utmost professionalism and highest ethical codeKnowledge of basketball (preferred)Previous experience working with celebrities or professional sports players (preferred)Location:
El Segundo, and other occasional off-site eventsTravel:
Less than 25% of the time, varies in-seasonThe pay range for this role is $80,000 to $90,000.
