A Day in the Life of the Content Strategy Manager
You’ll lead a talented team of writers and collaborate cross-functionally to publish trustworthy, engaging educational resources for patients and caregivers navigating blood cancers. You’ll manage the content roadmap, uphold editorial quality, and drive strategy informed by both SEO data and patient needs—ultimately advancing our client’s mission to make expert-level knowledge accessible to all.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop and oversee a strategic content roadmap that aligns with patient education goals and disease-specific plans
- Write and edit clear, accurate, and patient-friendly articles, guides, and resources
- Ensure medical content reflects up-to-date research, treatment options, and patient insights
- Manage and mentor a team of full-time and freelance writers, providing regular feedback and professional growth opportunities
- Lead cross-team collaboration on content promotion, outreach, and strategic campaigns
- Review content for scientific accuracy and consistency with editorial guidelines
- Monitor SEO performance and audience metrics in partnership with the SEO Specialist
- Help launch and expand disease-specific education sites based on strategic priorities
- Coordinate newsletters and content for emails, events, social media, and press
- Assist with reporting, metrics, and content impact tracking for internal and external stakeholders
Requirements and Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in medical content development, health communications, or patient education
- 2+ years in a content leadership or management role
- Advanced degree in journalism, medical writing, communications, public health, or a related field
- Exceptional written communication and medical writing skills
- Strong strategic thinking, planning, and organizational skills
- Familiarity with SEO best practices and content performance tracking
- Proficient in Google Workspace, project management tools, and CMS platforms
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative, and mission-driven environment
- Experience in healthcare nonprofits or patient advocacy is a strong plus
