Overview
The Sr. Instructional Systems Designer (Sr. ISD) designs innovative learning products that are instructionally sound, accurate, and engaging. This role will lead the development and delivery of online training, educational resources/tools, and other content for a large government healthcare agency. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, demonstrate the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, effectively manage multiple tasks across various projects, and collaborate with diverse teams and subject matter experts to create clear and concise training products tailored to the target audience.
DUTIES
General project management responsibilities (e.g., monitoring the project status of individual tasks and deliverables, and staying on a timeline for project milestones)
Lead for developing, designing and delivering training courses required by the client
Employs the ADDIE Model to produce high-quality web-based and streaming solutions.
Works closely as part of a dynamic team that includes technical writers, technical editors, e-learning developers, instructional designers, graphic artists, animators, narrators, subject matter experts, quality assurance, and document specialists
Communicate and work directly with the client on development efforts
Creates analysis and design documents based on job task and user analysis
Serves as the main point of contact for Hendall's quality assurance review personnel and SME's who review course content and presentation prior to delivery and implementation of the courses.
Monitors the project status of individual tasks and deliverables
Ensure training products comply with applicable guidance and regulations (SCORM, FISMA, Sections 508 and 504, style guides, etc.)
Manages the creative and technical content for individual training courses which includes responding to client issues, client feedback, and providing input for modifications to course content and activities
Required to attend all workshops, training events, and client meetings
Performs other duties as assigned based on business needs
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree in education, instructional design, or related field is required
Minimum of 10 years of experience in instructional design, project management, and training and development
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrated ability to apply instructional design methodology to create effective online training solutions
Demonstrate excellent facilitation, presentation and organizational skills
Knowledge of adult learning theories and ability to incorporate them into class design and delivery
Ability to solve problems in enterprising and proactive ways
Proficiency in Shareable Content Object Reference Module (SCORM)
Knowledge of Section 508 of the Disabilities Act and Section 508 compliance
Working knowledge of a variety of computer software applications
Experience leading design teams remotely as well as face-to-face
Collaborative and team-oriented
Proactive, self-driven, and able to work well in any environment while meeting deliverable deadlines
Excellent verbal and written communication
