Join an extremely talented and multi-disciplinary team in Keysight Laboratories, focusing on inventing and developing breakthrough electronic and optical measurement technologies. As part of our central research organization, you'll collaborate with experts across fields like photonics, RF, sensors, and communications, contributing to next-generation solutions for 6G, quantum computing, and more.
Responsibilities
Identify and harness photonics technology trends for Keysight.
Invent new measurement concepts with significant business impact.
Implement innovative concepts in hardware and software to demonstrate feasibility.
Collaborate with Keysight’s business units for transfer and commercialization of new technologies.
This role requires close collaboration with team members and must be performed from our offices in Santa Clara, California.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have deep theoretical knowledge and practical skills in lasers and optical system design, along with experience in interferometry, photonic integration, and measurement science. The role involves designing and developing optical devices and systems for various applications.
Core Qualifications
Ph.D. with 5+ years of experience in lasers (semiconductor or solid state) and free space optics.
Strong background in free space optical system design, including polarization concepts.
Understanding of laser technologies and principles of operation.
Familiarity with interferometry and optical measurement science.
Proficiency with optical simulation tools (e.g., ZEMAX, Lumerical).
Hands-on experience in optical systems laboratory work.
Ability to assemble and validate optical systems.
Strong communication skills and teamwork ability.

Photonic integrated circuit device design.
Photonic packaging technologies.
Low-noise photonic oscillators.
Heterogeneous photonic integration.
System-level design for optoelectronic systems.
Location
This position requires working from our Santa Clara, CA offices, which feature amenities like a rooftop garden, cafeteria, sports facilities, gym, and EV charging stations.
