As part of MIM’s Creative and Marketing team, the Associate Graphic Designer will work closely with MIM’s Graphic Designer to design materials for the museum and music theater that are on brand, visually stimulating, and highly informative in support of MIM’s strategic priorities and mission to increase attendance and awareness of MIM – locally, nationally, and internationally.The Associate Graphic Designer reports to the Creative and Marketing Manager and is an on-site position, due to the required in-person collaboration with multiple teams and events.Primary Responsibilities:Design marketing materials for internal and external promotion of the museum, events, concerts, and education programs, including paid advertising (print and online), flyers, brochures, curriculum, signage (printed and digital), and web graphicsAssist in the visual research, brainstorming, and concepting of creative branding campaigns for the museum and new exhibitionsSet up and create graphics for email communications; Distribute test emails for internal approvals and revisionsSupport website updates to ensure MIM.org is up-to-date with upcoming events and concerts, education content, MIM news, current exhibitions, etc.Proactively and regularly tour the museum galleries and attend MIM programs for design inspirationCreate and supply production-ready graphic files for printers/suppliers/media vendors, ensuring copy is proofread and approved prior to publishing creative materialsUse Basecamp and work with the Creative and Marketing Manager to prioritize workload and maintain project production schedulesFollow design parameters and stylistic guidelines consistent with the MIM brandBe proactive in finding ways to update MIM’s current marketing collateral to maximize its effectivenessAssist with additional tasks and projects as business needs arise.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience in Graphic Design or related fieldProficient in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator) and Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)Excellent design and proofing skills requiredStrong organization skills, time management, attention to detail, and verbal communication skills requiredAbility to understand and adhere to MIM’s brandSelf-starter demonstrating initiative, flexibility, and resourcefulnessAble to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlinesKnowledge of HTML and WordPress is a plus but not requiredExperience with Mailchimp is a plusBackground in music is a plusQualified candidates should submit a
