We seek a detail-oriented, well-organized, strong writer and editor to join our content team!
A candidate for the Executive Editor role should be a skilled, versatile content creator/reporter/editor who executes easily among multi-media and social media platforms while contributing substantially to our portfolio of content brands.
All editors must ensure adherence to deadlines and schedules while maintaining editorial quality and brand reputation. This position will have professional interaction with company departments and an audience of users and readers, advertisers, and contributors. This role will require travel and public speaking.
Our brands cross several exciting markets – school bus fleets, vehicle fleets, public safety / law enforcement, and the professional salon industry. Headquartered in Torrance, CA, Bobit associates work remotely from home.
Bobit is open to employing new associates in (only) the following states/areas:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Research, write, edit, and produce content, both as assigned and developing new content ideas, including departments, features, videos, podcasts, photo galleries, webinars, etc.
- Participate in content planning for digital, print and social media
- Lead and manage projects such as surveys, awards programs, supplements, editorial advisory board, etc.
- Manage brand social media channels such as Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn, etc.
- Work with editors, design, and media operations staff to manage the flow of monthly print issues, including editing and proofreading
- Work with editors and web teams to manage digital content, including creating and posting content in CMS, editing others’ work, sending out e-newsletters, and evaluating traffic and engagement statistics
- Work with events department on webinars and events (in-person and virtual)
- Must attend in-person various Bobit and other industry events and press conferences; develop and present speeches
- Be well-versed in industry terms and stay abreast of trends, communicating regularly with readers, industry leaders, and advertisers
- Fulfill select public speaking roles, including speaker introductions, conference panel moderating, and live presentations
- Coordinate with outside contributors for columns and freelance content
- Learn and embrace new technologies, media platforms, online programs, and workflow methods
- Maintain updated knowledge of SEO best practices and Google Analytics
- Coordinate with outside contributors for freelance content
- Edit and re-write news releases as needed and post online

Requirements include but are not limited to:
- B.A. degree in journalism, media, or communications, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ years writer/editor (print and digital) experience (B2B media work a plus)
- Transportation, trucking, or automotive industry involvement a plus
- Experienced at leading a team of creative professionals (internal and external)
- Proven excellence in editing, proofreading, interviewing, news reporting, feature article writing, and content development
- Knowledge of AP style
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook
- Understanding of content marketing and SEO best practices
- Social media experience (handling for a business)
- Travel and public speaking
- Google Analytics knowledge and application to content
- Basic photo-editing skills
- Self-starter with ability to push projects forward to ensure deadlines are met
- Ability to work with designers to develop cover concepts
- Photography, video, podcasting, webinar, and events experience are preferred
