As a residential content editor for Homes.com (a subsidiary of CoStar Group), you'll be an integral part of a growing editorial team creating stories that give home buyers a window into the lifestyle and vibe of neighborhoods around the country as they shop for their new homes. Plus, you're helping agents grow their business by connecting with new clients.To succeed in this role, you must be an experienced people manager, a meticulous editor, a creative problem solver, and a terrific communicator with a sharp eye. Teamwork is a critical piece of our culture and a key to our success, so a collaborative and adaptable attitude is a must.Responsibilities:Manage and mentor a small team of writers on their research, reporting and writing.Identify quality concerns and provide guidance to writers on how to improve.Edit story structure to enhance the overall storytelling.Focus on improving ledes to draw the reader in.Rewrite portions of the content that require additional work and/or send the copy back to the writer with clear, helpful feedback.Ensure that the overall voice, style and flow of copy is consistent to the Homes.com brand vision.Review video scripts to ensure they capture the overall vibe of each neighborhood and are written in a way that marries the words to the visual elements.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Creative Writing, English, Marketing, Communications or Journalism from an accredited, not-for-profit University or College.A track record of commitment to prior employers.7-10 years of professional editing experience.3-5 years of professional experience as a people manager.Preferred Qualifications:A master of words who knows how to expertly craft a story.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Ability to successfully multi-task and track assignments through multiple stages of production.A highly collaborative team player who is not afraid to speak up or ask questions.What’s in it for you?
