Overview
The Public Relations and Special Events intern is responsible for delivering the PR strategy established by Cavender's by building brand and product awareness within the target customer group through national and regional media and raising Cavender's profile among strategic partners. This position will evaluate, recommend, and manage all Home Office and store level sponsorships including charitable giving. The PR and Special events intern will report directly to the Public Relations Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities
Support the "Cavender's Culture" and drive our Mission, Vision, and ValuesAssist with Community Involvement Program Guidelines for Cavender's in storesAssist all special event and rodeo sponsorship, in coordination with radio, art department, and social mediaAssist Store Managers in planning collegiate promotionsAssist with inventory of branded promotional and giveaway items for all markets and Home OfficeAssist with distribution of banners and promo items to store openings and eventsAssist in execution of special projects as assignedEnsure all materials are on time, error-free, and optimized to deliver on key performance indicators
Qualifications and Requirements
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in marketing, merchandising, or related fieldPassion for the western lifestyle and fashion industryAn interest in western retailProficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPointExcellent oral and written communication skillsA great attitude and willingness to learn and ask questionsHigh integrity with the ability to represent Cavender's in a highly respectful and positive mannerAbility to interpret documentsAbility to understand the meanings of words and effectively respondAbility to comprehend complex issues and communicateBased in Tyler, TX at our home officeSome travel required
