LPL Financial is seeking an Assistant Vice President for our Product team to lead the collection, translation, and publication of product roadmap updates and tech release notes. This role will work closely with Product and Technology leadership to translate detailed delivery notes into digestible updates for internal and external audiences. This role will also work closely with a broad spectrum of stakeholders including executive leaders and their peers across the firm. Responsibilities will include a combination of writing, project management, and problem solving. The ideal candidate will be able to effectively translate technical delivery notes into engaging content that is consumable to a non-tech audience. These updates will be distributed to a variety of groups including internal partners, clients, and external publications.
The AVP will support the Product team in developing consumable updates on our product roadmap as well as collecting, refining, and distributing executive-level updates. A successful candidate will possess exceptional writing ability, business acumen, and ability to engage with executive leadership. Additionally, the candidate should also understand, utilize, and stay current with industry best practices, financial markets, the regulatory environment, and the competitive landscape to optimize results.
Responsibilities:
- Develop product roadmap updates by translating detailed delivery notes into digestible content for internal and external audiences.
- Coordinate with Product senior leadership to collect product updates that highlight the commercial value of the work.
- Leverage strong communication skills and presentation ability to understand and synthesize technical details into easily understandable forms to various audiences.
- Assist in proactively communicating product updates across all levels of the organization, clients, and external publications.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and make recommendations for change within the current ecosystem.
- Support other related ad hoc initiatives as they arise.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 5+ years’ experience in financial services, product/tech writing, corporate strategy, or consulting.
Core Competencies:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven track record of translating technical delivery notes into business-oriented product updates.
- Experience in dealing with senior leadership to gather feedback and share ideas.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, iterate, and execute strategies and plans.
- Ability to adapt to change, work independently and as part of teams, and manage initiatives to deliver results within tight timeframes.
- Detail oriented and organized with the ability to be comfortable in ambiguous and challenging situations.
- Keen ability to manage large sets of tasks and able to prioritize and manage multiple projects requests of various size and scope.
- Ability to build strong partnerships across all teams.
Preferences:
- Financial services experience a plus, not required.
Pay Range:
$106,088-$176,813/year. Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
