Sulphur Springs Valley Electric Cooperative (SSVEC) is a cooperative delivering safe and reliable electric service, through people who provide exceptional support to our member-owners and the communities we serve. SSVEC is a not-for-profit, member owned distribution cooperative providing electricity to more than 51,000 services over some 4,100 miles of energized line. Located in southeastern Arizona. SSVEC is dedicated to community growth, quality of life and a positive vision for the future.
SSVEC is looking for a full-time student to assist our Marketing and Communications Department in Sierra Vista, AZ.
SSVEC is accepting applications for an Administrative Intern to support our Marketing and Communications Department. This internship is an excellent opportunity for a high school or college student interested in communications, public relations, or community engagement to gain valuable hands-on experience throughout the academic year and beyond. Hours are flexible, but interns generally work no more than 19 hours per week during our normal business hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday-Friday. No evening or weekend work is available.
The essential functions listed below are general examples and not a complete description of comprehensive duties.
- Support the Marketing and Communications Department, contributing to internal and external outreach initiatives, event planning, member engagement, and communications efforts.
- Perform data entry and provide intradepartmental support as needed.
- Assist with general administrative tasks, including filing, document purging and retention, photocopying, and mail distribution.
- Possess user-level proficiency of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
- Be at least 16 years of age.
- The intern or their parent/guardian must be an SSVEC member.
- Must have 9th grade or equivalent level of concurrent education.
- Must be enrolled full-time in high school or college.
