Description: The College of Education and Human Sciences is seeking a self-motivated candidate to assist with graphic design and video creating/video editing for the College. Under general supervision, designs electronic and printed materials, exhibit elements, and/or illustrations for a variety of university publications, displays, and other media, as appropriate.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Conceptualizes, designs, and produces curriculum, training, and/or promotional materials such as flyers, ads, brochures, logos, office signage, exhibits, and/or displays.Designs and produces camera-ready art including graphs, charts, clip art, posters, digitization of graphics, line-art, and/or photos.Creates electronically-designed page layouts and imports word processing files into page layouts, as appropriate to the position; may develop and produce web-based graphics, as requested.Produces technical and scientific illustrations for presentations and/or publication, as appropriate to the requirements of the position.Captures video of College faculty, staff, and students and edits video for College recruitment, projects, etc.Consults with faculty and staff to identify their graphics needs, budget constraints, and reasonable deadlines for the project; serves as a liaison between the client and printers/publishers.Coordinates the printing production process to ensure quality: writes printing and other reproduction specifications (selects ink, paper, and print quality); inspects proofs for accuracy; recommends contractors (typesetters, printers, illustrators, photographers, cartographers).Writes and edits basic copy, as appropriate, which may include press releases and email or College Outreach campaigns.May coordinate a graphics or photographic library and/or maintain digital records.May provide technical computer support and install software programs.May design and maintain websites.Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications

Knowledgeof principles and practices of graphic design.Abilityto communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.Abilityto create and produce graphic materials and video using a range of media,methods, techniques, and equipment.Knowledgeof graphic layout and photographic requirements and procedures.Stronginterpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with awide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community.Skillsin the utilization of specified computerized graphic design programs,especially the Adobe suite.Abilityto analyze graphic and technical information and create interpretiveillustrations.
