Mountain Youth Academy (a UHS company) COMMUNITY MANAGER is seeking evening/weekend shifts to join our growing team! Come make a difference in the life of a child and love what you do!

Mountain Youth Academy is located near Johnson City, TN, Boone, NC, and Abingdon, VA. We are a 120-bed residential treatment facility that assists in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of a wide range of behavioral health issues for young adolescent patients.

Position Summary
The Community Manager manages and is accountable for the overall milieu of patients on the assigned community. They are responsible for managing the program schedule, including creating, organizing, and implementing activities that support therapeutic treatment goals, meeting Program Fidelity standards, and supporting the overall Therapeutic Program. The Community Manager acts as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team, providing continuous patient care, observation, interaction, and role modeling. They supervise staff to ensure adherence to program, unit schedules, and policies, and support Service Excellence Standards to foster a positive work environment.
Job Requirements
- Develop and execute evidence-based therapeutic and educational activities to improve patient functioning. Collaborate with various departments to ensure activities support the therapeutic program. Complete accurate documentation such as group notes and activity logs.
- Manage all aspects of unit activities, ensuring staff follow schedules and guidelines. Develop, plan, and execute program schedules, outings, and incentives. Maintain organization and cleanliness of the community.
- Provide crisis intervention as needed, utilizing de-escalation techniques, prioritizing safety, and following restraint guidelines.
- Train and develop milieu staff, serving as a role model and maintaining professional boundaries in all interactions.
Salaries start at $18.00 per hour for a High School Diploma, with increases based on experience and education. Shift differentials are included.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED with at least one year of healthcare experience.
- Verbal de-escalation skills.
- Knowledge of CARF and HIPAA policies.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to instruct and coach staff in de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques.
- Effective reading, writing, and documentation skills.
