Job Title:
Imaging Systems Engineer
Duration:
Direct Hire
Pay Rate:
$50.41/hr - $63.19/hr
Description:
The Imaging Systems Engineer II is responsible for the day-to-day operation, administration, and support of all core clinical imaging systems (PACS, RIS, Voice Recognition) and ancillary systems. This includes system security maintenance, application maintenance, quality assurance, troubleshooting, and system upgrades. The role also involves working with clinicians, staff, and vendors for system connectivity, training, and issue resolution.
Responsibilities:
70% Operational:
- Provide administration, support, installation, maintenance, management, and coordination of clinical imaging systems.
- Provide off-hour on-call support for system issues, ensuring full resolution.
- Work independently or as part of a team on assigned projects.
- Provide on-call support.
30% Design:
- Lead projects for the implementation and support of Keck Clinical Imaging Systems.
- Ensure the stability and functionality of assigned systems.
- Troubleshoot and provide root-cause analysis for issues, and recommend and implement solutions.
- Collaborate with IS teams to maintain systems in compliance with organizational standards and policies.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in supporting clinical imaging technology environments.
- Minimum 3 years of experience with installation, operations, maintenance, and support of at least two of the following systems: RIS, Radiology PACS, Cardiology PACS, Voice Dictation, Advanced Post Processing, RadOnc EMR, EKG/EEG, GI.
- REQUIRED experience with Varian Aria and Radiation Oncology workflows, with preferred experience with Cerner.
- Working level knowledge of DICOM, HL7, and IHE.
- Working level knowledge of Imaging Modalities (XR, US, MRI, CT, Nuclear, Mammo, EKG).
- Competency in supporting Imaging Informatics system interfaces.
- Knowledge of LAN/WAN, Wired/Wireless networking technologies.
- Knowledge of computer hardware (Advanced Workstations, Diagnostic monitors).
Job Accountabilities:
- Administer, support, install, maintain, and coordinate enterprise-wide imaging systems and implement technical solutions.
- Evaluate, recommend, and deploy third-party client and server applications.
- Install and configure hardware and software consistent with organizational standards.
- Provide System Administration, Maintenance, and Support in coordination with Vendor Support.
- Ensure timely resolution of all tickets and service requests.
- Provide after-hours and weekend support as needed for 24x7 system availability.
- Follow established procedures for creating Change Management documentation and implementing production modifications.
- Collaborate with managers to resolve issues that impact imaging operations.
- Learn and provide support for additional IT systems and technical environments.
- Provide escalation support, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis for system issues.
- Manage complex, inter-departmental projects and operational initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
