This position is responsible for engaging patients, caregivers and staff in creating art.

Responsibilities
* Plans and develops art workshops for patients, caregivers, and staff members.* Teaches artistic skills to participants both individually as well as in a group.* Creates a supportive and creative environment for those who participate in the art program.* Adapts goals based on each individuals skills and abilities.* Plans and purchases needed materials.* Takes and keeps progress notes on participants and shares with health care providers.

* Ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined above.* Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills.* Ability to work as part of a team of health care professionals.* Ability to comfortably deal with a variety of people with sensitivity to cultural values and ethnic differences.* Ability to be compassionate, mature and respectful.* Ability to respond creatively to individuals, their moods and abilities.* Ability to work with patients individually as well as in a group setting.

Qualifications
Required
* BA in art, an artist, or a former art student.* One year experience in teaching art.* Experience in active studio practice in creating art.
Qualifications (Preferred)
Preferred
* Bi-lingual English/Spanish.* Experience as an artist-in-residence.* Experience working in a medical setting preferred.

Employee must be able to meet the following requirements with or without an accommodation.
* This position involves light work that may exert up to 20 pounds and may consistently require light work involving lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling or otherwise moving objects involving patient care or medical equipment.
