Job Overview
The Social Media Director is responsible for growing NYSERDA's presence online in a thoughtful and strategic manner through the creation of content that is engaging and informative.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies for increasing NYSERDA's brand awareness across its social media channels.
- Collaborate closely with the Office of the President, Marketing, Communications, Events and Program teams to align on a social media strategy that advances NYSERDA's vision and mission.
- Determine social media Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and provide analytics to enhance the overall brand awareness of NYSERDA; optimize social media analytics to ensure delivery of effective content creation.
- Identify and oversee the process of creating topical social media campaigns to execute throughout the year.
- Oversee and collaborate with the Social Media Manager and the development of a content calendar.
- Direct the monitoring and responses to feedback across social media platforms.
- Establish relationships with social media influencers and key industry officials to expand the reach of NYSERDA programs and initiatives.
- Coordinate with partners on alignment of social media content.
- Collaborate with the Digital Content Editor to align on messaging for NYSERDA's website and social media platforms.
- Stay current on the latest digital technologies and social media trends that can advance NYSERDA's presence on social media.
- Ability to perform all managerial and supervisory responsibilities with demonstrated experience fostering respect, diversity, equity and inclusion across the workforce.
Minimum Qualifications
- Proficient in social media marketing tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Sprout Social, Google Analytics, Meta/X/LinkedIn Analytics, and Microsoft Office.
- Bachelor's degree in public relations, journalism, communications, marketing, or a related field
- 10+ years of proven experience in social media/digital marketing, 3 of which should be in a supervisory capacity
- Experience managing social media campaigns
- Demonstrated understanding of social media platforms, content and trends
- Proficiency with HTML, digital media formats and editing tools
- Ability to multitask and meet demanding deadlines
- Strong communications skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree and 8 years' experience, with proven experience in social media/ digital marketing, 3 of which should be in a supervisory capacity.
