Position Summary:
The Grant Coordinator has responsibility for the development of grant applications to state and federal governments and foundations [or DBHIDS. The Grant Coordinator works closely with the management staff of the Grants and Procurement unit and other departments throughout the Agency. The Grant Coordinator manages the entire grant application process, including researching potential funding sources, compiling necessary documents, drafting proposals, ensuring timely submissions, and monitoring funded projects to meet grant requirements: essentially acting as the central point of contact for all grant-related activities within the organization. This function includes assisting/participating with grant concepts development, writing program narrative, assisting with the budget development process, and the submission of the finalized grant application. The Grant Coordinator will also provide technical assistance to DBHIDS Project Directors with the awarded grants.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Skills Required:
Excellent writing and oral communication skills. Detailed knowledge of and experience with behavioral health services and systems. Knowledge of grant funding sources, grant applications processes. and attention to details while preparing grant proposals. Candidate must demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the goals and values underpinning the behavioral health system transformation currently underway in Philadelphia. Experience working well with leadership in an organizational setting. Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously and organizing tasks. Ability to synthesize material quickly and concisely. Ability to analyze interpret and evaluate data. Ability to work independently and in a team environment with diverse professional and with community members and persons with lived experience.
Education and Experience:
A minimum of a bachelor's degree with 5 years' experience or a Master's degree with at least 3 years' experience in behavioral health or related area.
Physical Demands:
Ability to physically perform the duties and work of the position. Ability and willingness to travel as needed to various locations as directed.

- Perform reviews and searches of various sources of information, including federal, state and foundation sources to identify potential grant opportunities that align with DRIIIDS' mission and vision.
- Engage representatives of other agencies and systems, as needed, to develop applications.
- Attend and participate in department meetings to ensure that grant documents align with DBHIDS priorities.
- Hold a bi-monthly URHIDS grant steering committee.
- Assist with preparing an implementation timeline for a proposal project.
- Coordinate with fiscal staff and the Project Manager to develop a budget and budget narrative.
- Assist with developing an application timetable to ensure timely grant application submissions.
- Conduct routine online checks to gain updated information about the submitted grant application's progress.
- Communicate with grant application point person about the status of the submitted grant application.
- Maintain updated organizational information in the federal and state funding portals.
- Support awarded grant Project Managers with submitting required documents and reports to funders in a timely manner.
- Maintain a record of current funding opportunity announcements utilizing cloud-based services.
- Track submitted and awarded grant applications.
- Maintain updated grant application development documents and procedural information.
- Stay updated on the relevant best practices and changes in grant regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned
