Position Overview
The Film Program seeks to fill an open-rank position at the rank of Assistant Professor/Associate Professor of Film (tenure-track/tenured) or Assistant Professor of Professional Practice/Associate Professor of Professional Practice in Film (practice faculty), specializing in screenwriting, effective July 1, 2025. The program aims to attract a dynamic and dedicated teacher with professional experience in the film and/or television industries and teaching experience at the graduate level. The ideal candidate will have experience working professionally and teaching feature film screenwriting and television writing. Experience in new media is also a plus.
Candidate Qualifications
- Assistant Professor/Associate Professor (tenure-track): Must demonstrate potential for creative work and pedagogy, qualifying for future tenure consideration.
- Associate Professor of Film (tenured): Must have a record of excellence in teaching, be widely recognized for professional distinction, and show promise of further achievement.
- Assistant Professor of Professional Practice: Must demonstrate capacity for creative work and potential for continued contributions to their professional field and teaching.
- Associate Professor of Professional Practice: Must have a proven track record of professional success and substantial teaching and mentoring experience.
