Job Description
Sigmatech, Inc. is seeking an experienced Proposal Writer/Coordinator to support the development and submission of high-quality, compliant, and compelling federal proposals. This individual will work closely with the Proposal Manager, Capture Managers, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and others to create persuasive and winning proposals.
This position is Hybrid/Remote: candidates residing in the greater Aberdeen, MD area will have preference.
Key Responsibilities
- RFI Response, Proposal Development & Writing: Draft, edit, and format RFIs and proposal sections, including technical, management, past performance, and resumes, ensuring compliance with RFP requirements and company branding.
- Proposal Coordination: Assist in the full lifecycle of proposal development, from pre-RFP planning through final submission, ensuring adherence to schedules and deadlines.
- Compliance & Quality Assurance: Develop compliance matrices, review RFPs, and ensure all proposal deliverables meet solicitation requirements.
- Collaboration & Team Support: Work with Business Development, Capture, and Technical Teams to gather inputs and refine proposal content, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
- Content Management: Maintain and update proposal content libraries, resumes, past performance narratives, and boilerplate information.
- Graphics: Assist in the development of proposal graphics to enhance clarity and readability.
- Desktop Publishing: Apply best practices, company branding, and RFP compliance in document design and formatting using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe tools.
- Color Review Support: Organize and incorporate feedback from color team reviews (Pink, Red, Gold) to improve proposal quality.
- Logistics & Submission: Support electronic and hardcopy proposal submission processes, ensuring all documents are submitted on time.
- Post-Submission Activities: Assist in the development of BAFOs, and clarifications as needed.
Required Experience
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelors degree in English, Communications, Business, or a related field preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in federal proposal writing and coordination.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Experience with desktop publishing and formatting proposal documents.
- Familiarity with managing document permissions in Microsoft Teams and SharePoint.
- Experience using AI and LLM tools to develop written approaches.
- Proposal Expertise:
- Understanding of Shipley-based proposal development processes.
- Experience supporting federal prime contractor proposals.
- Ability to work on multiple proposals simultaneously.
- Strong knowledge of compliance and basic understanding of federal procurement regulations.
- Communication & Organization:
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
