Overview
The Lake Erie Crushers are a professional baseball team that are a member of the Frontier League, a Major League Baseball Partner League.
The Crushers, established in 2009, are based in Avon, Ohio, and their home stadium is Lake Erie Crushers Stadium. The stadium has a capacity of 5,000, including 11 suites, four-person terrace tables, berm seating, picnic, and patio areas for group outings. The stadium features new artificial turf, concession stands, a team shop, a state-of-the-art sound system, and a new video board. Avon is 18 miles west of Cleveland, Ohio, and part of the Cleveland metropolitan area.
The Crushers are looking for a unique personality with the ability to create OUTRAGEOUS FUN using their voice. We are looking for someone who can spark the fun in the fans by interacting with our on-field emcee, having a distinct voice, and being wacky when needed. All 48 home games should be thrilling events filled with baseball and fun for 9 innings (or more if we go into extra innings of course).
Key Responsibilities:
- Announce batters and game events (home runs, strikes, etc.).
- Read sponsor messages and in-game promotions.
- Keep announcements clear, professional, and energetic.
- Coordinate with the game operations team for smooth timing.
- Announce giveaways, special events, and promotions.
- Assist with special announcements (anthem, player intros, first pitches, pre-game).
- Ensure all announcements are accurate and on time.
Qualifications:
- Previous announcing or public speaking experience is preferred.
- Bring a unique style with OUTRAGEOUS FUN to the ballpark.
- Ability to ad lib and play off on-field emcee personality.
- Clear, confident speaking voice.
- Knowledge of baseball and feel for the game.
- Comfortable working in a loud, fast-paced environment.
- Availability for evening, weekend, and holiday games.
