Overview
2+ years of Management consulting, Strategy Consulting, or Business Operations experience, or equivalent demonstrated through relevant roles. 4+ years of translation industry experience. Bilingual proficiency in Chinese (Traditional and Simplified) and English, including speaking, reading, and writing. Desired Skills & Experience
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong presentation skills. Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Strong project management skills. Solid problem-solving skills. 4+ years of experience as a professional translator and editor or proofreader, translating, reviewing, and providing feedback on marketing, finance, legal, and banking materials targeting Chinese-speaking audiences. 3+ years of experience in translating or transcreating creative content such as marketing and public relations materials. Expertise in transcreating content that connects emotionally and is culturally appropriate for Chinese audiences. Bachelor’s degree in Chinese translation or linguistics. ATA certification. Diplomatic and professional approach to providing and receiving feedback. Willingness to seek out opportunities and understand big-picture contexts. Ability to collaborate in virtual team environments and develop effective relationships with clients and vendors. Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a deadline-driven environment. Adaptability, flexibility, and attention to detail. Positive attitude and willingness to learn. Experience with Computer-Assisted Translation and Terminology tools (e.g., Wordfast, Studio, SDLX, Trados, MultiTerm). Experience with Adobe Acrobat and other content tools. Experience with translation management systems (SDL TMS or WorldServer). Proficiency in translation and terminology management tools. Familiarity with online resources such as dictionaries and glossaries. Experience working in complex, matrixed organizations. What You Will Be Doing
Translate, review, proof, and validate content, adhering to style guides, terminology, deadlines, and procedures. Conduct post-translation reviews and spot-checks for accuracy and consistency, report defects, and verify fixes. Respond to client feedback, analyze legal and compliance feedback, act as liaison to resolve issues, and verify feedback implementation. Address linguistic queries from clients and vendors. Maintain linguistic assets such as glossaries and style guides. Support ad hoc projects and initiatives as needed.
