Work with Project Managers and Project Architects to prepare specifications for construction documentsInteract, coordinate and expedite specification preparation among consultant disciplinesConduct technical investigation of products, materials and construction methodsEnsure compliance with related codes and regulations, including NFPA 285 assemblies and productsPrepare contract conditions, general and bidding requirementsGenerate Preliminary Project Descriptions during early design phasesReview submittals for conformance with contract documentsReview substitutions for equivalency of product attributes including life cycle, sustainability and risk assessmentMaintain, edit, and establish new standard specifications sections and firmwide templatesCommunicate effectively with the project team, client, and consultants during the project durationAssist project teams with technical details and provide necessary technical informationResearch and have access to the latest information from manufacturers and vendorsHave a broad knowledge of projects related to workplace environments, learning environments (K12), multi-family residential, aerospace and high tech offices, and healthcare environmentsContinuously work to improve and implement techniques to develop specificationsMust be willing to listen to others and communicate efficiently with team membersAssist with training and mentoring less experienced staffWork seamlessly with Specifications Team leadership
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in ArchitectureLicensed Architect is preferredCDT, CSI CCS Certified is preferred8+ years of specifications experience and/or combination of Project Architect and specifications writing experienceExperience with BSD Spec-Link-E a plus (required to learn software)Excellent verbal and written communication skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office programsBase salary is $65,000 - $100,000 based off of experience
