The Associate Director, Scientific Strategy Lead for CMV will be responsible for developing and optimizing the strategies and the relevant initiatives to drive scientific understanding and advocacy for CMV. This critical role will lead commercial activities that interface with internal and external stakeholders, including Global Marketing, US Medical Affairs, Outcomes Research and key external scientific leaders and societies. The person in this role will serve as the primary brand point who engages with scientific leaders through input meetings, Consultant Service Agreements, and other forums. The role will sit within the Horizon Customer Agile Team (CAT) and work closely with the U.S. Commercial Leader.Our marketing organization has adopted an Agile operating model, to be more adaptive and responsive to rapidly evolving customer needs and keep pace with the digital evolution in the marketplace. The successful candidate embraces a growth mindset, a willingness to tackle challenges, and a passion for learning, development, and team achievement.Key ResponsibilitiesDefine brand priorities from a scientific education and advocacy perspective, ensuring alignment with marketing strategy through application of the L3 framework.
Collaborate with Medical Affairs to develop and advance scientific engagement plan.
Partnership with key stakeholders, Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and across the marketing team on the development of medical education strategy and content.
Partner with Medical Affairs and GEMS to lead Group Input Meetings.
Develop the franchise’s annual congress plan and any necessary congress resources/activities including applicable customer meetings.
Understand the competitive landscape and lead the development of a scientific strategy that differentiates versus competition.
Review weekly literature searches to understand Real World Evidence being published.
Work with Outcomes Research and Market Access teams to support needs, including assessing our health care economic value platform.
Represent the commercial perspective on select cross-divisional teams (e.g. Regional Medical Affairs Team (RMAT), Value and Implementation (V+I) Team).
Act as the commercial point during Label Evaluation and Development (LEAD) team meetings and manage label updates.
Remain current on key insights for the brand, customer, and marketplace.
Required experience and skills:BA/BS.
A minimum of 4 years Pharma/biotech experience OR a minimum of 5 years combined strategic marketing, brand management, and/or market research experience.
Ability to translate science/clinical data into marketing strategies, medical education and/or conference initiatives.
Demonstrated ability to make strategic choices using fundamental marketing tools (e.g. segmentation, positioning, etc.).
Understanding of health care ecosystem, market access environment, and drivers of value in health care.
Demonstrated analytical skills.
Ability to thrive within a fast-paced, data-driven setting that employs Agile practices and a test and learn approach.
Strong project management skills as demonstrated by prioritizing activities, using resources optimally, establishing appropriate deadlines and ensuring on-time delivery.
Strong presentation and engagement skills, including the ability to communicate complex information in a succinct and simplified manner.
Strong written/verbal communication skills as demonstrated through experience in strategy & marketing business case communication, sales interface, direct customer engagement and/or sales presentations.
Demonstrates high degree of integrity and ethics.
Preferred experience and skills:MBA.
Product launch or launch planning experience.
Experience developing an annual congress plan, congress resources and activities (including applicable customer meetings).
Experience working in an Agile environment or Scrum framework.
Experience influencing without direct authority, navigating complex or matrix organizations and working successfully with cross-functional teams.
