SUNY Polytechnic Institute - New York State's premier public polytechnic - seeks a seasoned and dynamic professional to serve as its Assistant Vice President for Marketing and Communications (AVP). This highly visible leadership position will provide strategic oversight of the university's integrated marketing, communications, media and public relations efforts and will be charged with elevating the institution's brand and aligning marketing/communication strategies with the university's mission and strategic goals. The Assistant Vice President of Marketing and Communications is responsible for supporting the development and execution of comprehensive marketing plans aimed at strengthening the College's brand, reputation, and market presence. The AVP provides oversight for all College communications and publications including messaging and design, copywriting, media relations and website content. Additionally, the AVP leads initiatives related to public relations enrollment marketing, alumni engagement, and multichannel communications, driving both internal and external engagement efforts. Work with the Chief of Staff, Vice President for External Relations, and Associate Provost for Enrollment Management to set marketing objectives and key performance indicators. Develop marketing and communication budgets. Utilize data and analytics to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and advertising placements. Assist in the development and maintenance of SUNY Poly's brand identity, ensuring consistency across all communication channels and materials. Formulate and execute marketing campaigns, advertisements, and promotional materials to enhance brand visibility and recognition. Monitor and manage SUNY Poly's online presence, including the website, social media platforms, and other digital channels. Oversee creative of compelling external marketing materials to support recruitment and fundraising efforts, including brochures, videos, and presentations. Partner with the Admissions team on marketing plans to attract prospective students, increase applications, and achieve enrollment targets. Collaborate with The Office of Institutional Advancement to develop and execute strategies to engage alumni and consistently tell SUNY Poly's story. Serve as the primary point of contact for media relations and manage public relations activities to promote positive visibility for SUNY Poly and manage crisis communications. Build and sustain relationships with external partners, stakeholders, and community organizations to elevate SUNY Poly's reputation. Lead the Marketing & Communications team with expertise, offering guidance, mentorship, and fostering opportunities for professional development. Bachelor's degree in related field from college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization. 5-7 years of relevant experience. 3 plus years of supervisory experience. Excellent verbal and communication skills. Preferred Requirements Master's Degree in related field from college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization.
