Job Summary: Twin Rivers Unified School District is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Secondary Music Teacher passionate about inspiring students through music education. This position involves developing, implementing, and assessing a robust music curriculum that engages students and aligns with district goals and standards.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive secondary-level music instructional program.
- Foster a dynamic and inclusive classroom environment that promotes creativity and musical excellence.
- Uphold district discipline standards to ensure an effective and focused learning environment.
- Collaborate actively with colleagues, administrators, parents, and the community to support student growth and engagement.
- Plan and organize curricular and extracurricular music activities, including performances and competitions.
- Engage in curriculum development and student assessments to monitor progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Develop detailed lesson plans, including comprehensive plans for substitutes.
- Participate in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings and accommodate special needs students effectively.
- Maintain precise records in compliance with district requirements.
- Represent the school positively in all district-wide events and musical activities.
Qualifications:
- Valid California Single Subject Music credential with English Language Learner authorization.
- Comprehensive understanding of music education best practices, classroom management, and student assessment techniques.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
- Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate diverse student populations.
- Commitment to regular attendance, punctuality, and maintaining a professional demeanor.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to actively engage in instructional activities, requiring standing, sitting, and movement.
- Adequate vision and hearing capabilities for student supervision and instructional delivery.
- Manual dexterity to handle musical instruments and instructional technology.
Education & Certification Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Valid California Single Subject Music Credential with English Learner authorization.
Salary & Benefits:
- Annual Salary: $63,947 - $124,659, based on verified experience and education.
- Additional stipends: $2,000 Master's Degree, $2,000 Doctorate Degree.
- $4,500 Hiring Bonus Incentive. Final salary placement is contingent upon receipt of official transcripts and verification of prior contracted teaching experience.
