Position Summary:
The Communications Manager will manage and work with a team to develop and execute public relations plans based on business, marketing and PR objectives that will influence public opinion as part of a comprehensive communications strategy. This will include maintaining relationships and communicating with representatives of media, community, consumer, employee and public interest groups to position Carle, Health Alliance, and the interest of the entire organization in the best possible manner.

Bachelors Related Field
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Eight (8) years Public Relations or Corporate Communications and
Experience managing employees preferred.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Must possess ability to think and respond quickly, professionally and appropriately
Analyzes situations and presenting suitable alternatives.
Excellent oral, written, and persuasive skills are required
Proficiency in communicating complex messages to multiple audiences.
Multi-tasking and ability to meet multiple deadlines is crucial.
Essential Functions:
Responsible for interviewing, disciplinary action, payroll reporting, and scheduling paid leave.
Enforces requires rules and regulations.
Monitors employee performance
Ensures timely communications for goal setting, performance evaluation, wages increases and personnel actions.
Develops budget recommendations and monitors budget activities
Helps develop annual and project level communications plans to maintain
Improves the reputation of the organization
Promotes health literacy and enhance employee engagement.
Develop content for internal and external audiences.
Subject matter will often be complex, and the ability to communicate clearly and tailor the message is required.
Will research, write, edit and coordinate approvals in a timely manner
Coach staff who will act as spokespersons in effective communication with the public, employees, patients or other groups
Oversee all aspects of special events for the organization
Ensure events are aligned with PR and business objectives
Reinforce the positive public perception of the organization
Coordinate speaking engagements
Write talking points for administrators, physicians and other staff to promote the organization
Maintain readiness for crisis communications through training, preparing processes, responses and planning.
This may include acting as organization Public Information Officer during a sustained event.
Such incident response may require extended hours.
Coordinate the organization's philanthropic support to community programs as aligned with Community Benefit Plan.
