GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY
We are a premier boutique provider of premium quality, fully certified Organic, Non-GMO, Gluten-Free, Kosher, and Vegan spices for health-conscious consumers. We are a trusted brand that supports the environment with sustainable, eco-friendly practices and are also a leading industrial ingredient supplier to food manufacturers.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Senior Marketing Manager will own and deliver strategies and plans to drive the growth and profitability of the brand. This position will deliver consistent market share expansion, and strengthen brand equity, inclusive of:
Creation of marketing plans and budgets that drive share and deliver financial objectives
Development of brand positioning & marketing strategies
Management and delivery of annual operating plan and proforma
Ownership of marketing mix (promotion/advertising, distribution/merchandising, packaging, quality, pricing, etc.)
Set foundation to expand department headcount
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Build strategy to grow brand into the dominant premier organic spice solution for customers and consumers
Create annual strategic plan
Manage Websites, Social, SEO, Online Ads, and Influencer programs
Develop and execute annual plans for innovation, promotion, marketing investment
Report on and analyze monthly KPIs (shipments, P&L, retail consumption - SPINS)
Lead monthly demand forecasting and S&OP process; manage DME (marketing) budget
Marketing management of deliverables
Prepare analyzed insights from market data, competitor intelligence, consumer research & customer/retailer data
Develop robust & viable innovation pipeline and approve new item creation with SLT (Senior Leadership Team)
Oversee communications strategy, including development of content and marketing mix
Develop brand promotions and enable cross-brand promotional opportunities; recommend promotional calendar and merchandising programs
Serve as liaison with outside agencies to maximize promotional campaigns
Manage and execute brand-initiated product and packaging changes
Integrate sales strategies and assist in developing tactics to support overall growth
Lead Online Sales efforts to achieve sales and profit goals – Amazon, Shopify, Google Ads
Lead Sales and Customer integration process through partnership with Sales team
Collaborate with Sales on customer-specific item and promotion opportunities
Organizational leadership and team development
Ensure clarity of responsibility and facilitate accountability for team activities
Leverage team interactions to develop members of team (Marketing and Sales)
Support development of company culture and optimize ways of working in a positive manner
Provide functional expertise and leadership for brand management
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
BA/BS in Business, Marketing or related field required, MBA preferred
Minimum 5 years consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry experience in Marketing with track record of success delivering profit quota, etc.
Deep knowledge and working experience with website management, social, SEO, Google Analytics, Shopify, Drip, and other sales-driven tools and platforms
Demonstrated expertise with Excel, PowerPoint, Word, ERP and CRM systems
Strong skillset: business presentations, analytics, problem solving, negotiation and resource planning
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) are required
Understanding of AC Nielsen, SPINS, IRI, Household Panel, and SPECTRA
Ability to succeed in a multi-task, fast paced/dynamic environment
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS
Must use safe lifting techniques
While performing the duties of this position, the team member is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger handle or feel objects tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, talk, hear.
Wearing personal protective equipment when in the facility is expected, and following the required safety procedures
Lift and move up to 35 lbs.
Exposure to spices, dust; variable temperatures; there may be exposure to chemicals.
