Success for this leader requires the ability to understand Target’s priorities and partner with a broad set of stakeholders to establish design & experience direction. Day to day you’ll ensure your team has what they need to thrive and deliver great work. This includes operating routines, insights, research direction, partner awareness, and a collaborative and inclusive culture.Responsibilities:Build trust and partnerproactively with UX, Product, Technology & Business Stakeholders to set the stage for your team to achieve exceptional outcomesDefine research roadmaps and identifypossible research opportunitiesbased on key partner priorities and business needs within the Enterprise UX TeamLead a balanced team of researchers and grow the team’s ability to balance multiple projects/demandsCoach, mentor, and guide a team of individual contributors of various levels, helping them to grow and develop new skills, while increasing trust, transparency, and engagementWork closely with cross-functional teams to integrate research processes and understandinginto the overall product development lifecycleMaintain high-quality standards for your team throughout the research process including reviewing the work of the research team, conducting collaborative sessions, and making sure that the final deliverables meet the established criteriaChampion user-centered data and design principles within the organization, promoting and advocating its importanceAbout you:7+ years of experience in UX/digital product research with a strong understanding of the craftProven experience in a people management role including hiring, leading, and coaching high performing, cross-geography or remote teamsFoundational understanding of digital retail businessesExperience working in large, matrixed, global or multi-national organizations a plusDemonstrated ability to build relationships and create impact through multiple levels of leadership including other Sr Managers, Directors, and Sr. Directors, and can maintain both drive and patience throughout the journeyAbility to balance short-term and long-term thinking while raising quality and team performanceProactively identify and resolve issues that may block the team from meeting strategic, business, or financial goalsStrong data-driven visual, verbal, and written story-telling skills with ability to bring partners alongExperience successfully managing many stakeholders through all phases of the research and product developmentprocessThis position may be considered for a Remote or Hybrid (known internally at Target as “Flex for Your Day”) work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Remote work arrangement means the team member worksfull-time from home oran alternatelocation that’s not a Target location, does not have a desk at a Target location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role may be performed either remote or onsite at a Target location depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
