Dec 23, 2022Profile:Description:Position at Hill Knowlton Strategies. The Vice President is responsible for supporting a proactive strategy through active internal communications and engagement to foster employee experience and culture, and build pride among Ford’s employees with a focus on manufacturing workers. Additionally:Identify and escalate issues where the company is at risk, including external events or circumstances that may impact the Ford workforce.Support proactive communications programs and campaigns around key client issues and priorities.Coordinate and manage relationships with clients including in-plant communicators across Ford’s manufacturing facilities.Help execute communications strategy and support for high-profile corporate priorities with a direct impact on the client’s business and standing, particularly to support executive and plant leaders and with various business partners including marketing, culture, DEI and HR.Responsibilities:Independently lead day-to-day account operations and serve as a primary client contact.Cultivate and build relationships with key day-to-day clients; nurture and grow the partnership over time.Deliver internal communications/employee engagement to employees and manufacturing workers that increase awareness of and connections to CEO’s vision and plan.Develop and deploy strategic, proactive internal communications that deliver the client’s message about key initiatives or issues.Provide client counsel about implications of an issue and the impact it could have on corporate reputation and business operations.Display passion for client’s challenges and possess proactive energy needed to find solutions for internal communications needs on their behalf.Demonstrate a thorough understanding of client business, industry competition and relevant media.Demonstrate a strong bias for action.Ability to develop strategic and creative employee-centered solutions that deliver outstanding results.Maintain an awareness and detailed knowledge of the developments in the business, including major projects impacting the enterprise, corporate initiatives, trade relations initiatives, and issues and controversies involving corporate reputation.Confer and collaborate with subject matter experts in various internal departments and outside stakeholders to determine the appropriate internal and external communications for the situation.Formulate positions and strategies pertaining to the execution of the communications.Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work quickly to tight deadlines.Deliver accurate and timely reporting about manufacturing plant activities and impact of internal communications to ensure various initiatives result in an aligned and meaningful experience for employees.Coordinate in-person and virtual communications events (e.g., executive plant visits, video shoots) including logistics.Lead team to ensure excellent project and creative execution through collaboration with Ford team and partners, as well as appropriate editorial planning and content development for internal and external channels.Basic Qualifications:The ideal candidate is a creative yet strategic thinker, demonstrating enthusiasm and energy, an appetite to learn and be challenged, and a solid base skill set of writing, organization, account and team management.10 years of PR agency/in-house experience with a focus on internal communications for large companies.Undergraduate degree in PR, Communications, Journalism, Media Studies or related.Experience with employee communications, engagement and culture campaigns; experience with hourly workforce a plus.Experience communicating externally to media, NGOs, financial analysts, government officials and community groups; experience with manufacturing and labor issues a plus.Experience collaborating with internal and external resources to develop strategies that meet established goals on time and within budget.Superior writing, problem solving and organizational skills.Budget and junior team management experience.Candidates must have experience leading the execution of corporate programs on behalf of large brands, including but not limited to, corporate reputation, crisis communications, executive positioning, employee engagement and business transformation.A little about H K:We are one of the world’s largest and most renowned communications firms, with more than 80 offices around the globe, with 13 in the U.S. In the U.S., our first priority is our people and creating an experience for each employee that is positive and fulfilling.
