SoFi is looking for an experienced editorial multi-hyphenate with an advanced understanding of investing to execute on our team’s product education strategy. SoFi’s mission is to help you get your money right – and the Content Team’s role is to show you how. The Senior Writer, Product, will drive product education through editorial, social, video, and other formats to help people feel confident about using Sofi products. Success in this role will translate to increased product adoption and engagement and greater efficiency in addressing member pain points.
Reporting to the Senior Managing Editor on the SoFi Content team, the Senior Writer, Product, will work alongside content strategists and many other cross-functional collaborators. We are a mission-driven team that cares deeply about financial literacy and helping people fulfill their ambitions. The ideal candidate is a topnotch writer and customer advocate, steeped in personal finance, and capable of delivering premium digital content experiences.
Candidates with experience producing impactful consumer-facing educational content are preferred. Subject matter expertise in personal finance – especially investing and retirement saving – is required for this role. This is a full-time contract remote position.
What you’ll do
- Turn strategic briefs into delightful educational content: You will be responsible for writing and creating a wide variety of formats – including email, articles, social content, product tutorials and demos, video scripts, quizzes, and more.
- Demystify and evangelize investing concepts and products: You will cultivate subject matter expertise across a range of products in order to empower SoFi members to leverage financial tools and strategies to fulfill their ambitions.
- Collaborate and cooperate: Product education is a team sport at SoFi, and you will need to cultivate great relationships with strategists, editors, our compliance team, and cross-functional partners from across the organization. Good news: they’re all great!
Who you are

- An experienced writer and content creator with advanced communication skills.
- Sufficiently organized to ward off chaos and keep pieces moving forward simultaneously.
- Comfortable giving and receiving candid, constructive feedback.
- Committed to bringing positivity, empathy, and respect to every interaction.
- Preferred: Series 7 or comparable financial credential and/or experience working with financial products and services and collaborating with legal and compliance functions.
The base pay range for this role is listed below. Final base pay offer will be determined based on individual factors such as the candidate’s experience, skills, and location.
