Overview
The volunteer Social Media Content Creator is responsible for developing and sharing engaging, informative and timely content across the Club’s social media platforms. This role plays a key part in promoting Club events and initiatives, celebrating member & Club achievements and strengthening community engagement online.
Non-Committee Role
This is a voluntary, non-committee role that plays a vital part in club communications without the additional commitment of a committee position. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys creativity, communication, and community-building in a flexible, behind-the-scenes capacity.
Key Duties / Responsibilities
Content Creation and Management:
Create and publish social media posts that reflect the Club’s values, voice and activities
Share updates about events, announcements, milestones, training sessions and newsletters
Design and schedule visually appealing club-branded graphics, photos, and videos that enhance the Club’s social presence
Photographs members and dogs occasionally at training sessions
Community Engagement:
Respond to messages and comments in a friendly and timely manner
Monitor Club-related tags and mentions to engage with the broader community
Encourage member participation by promoting social interaction and celebrating Club culture
Collaboration:
Liaise with Committee Members, Instructors, Website Content Coordinator, Fundraising & Sponsorship Coordinator, and Newsletter editor to gather and share accurate and relevant content
Coordinate timely content schedules to align with Club events and communications
Strategy & Reporting:
Suggest improvements or new content ideas to increase engagement and reach
Monitor post performance (e.g., likes, shares, reach) and provide monthly updates to the Committee.
Relationships:
Reports to Secretary
Liaises with the President, Committee Members, Website Content Coordinator, Newsletter
Editor, Fundraising & Sponsorship Coordinator and other relevant contributors
Desirable Skills and Attributes:
Confident and creative communicator with a passion for digital storytelling
Familiarity with Facebook and Instagram (other platforms optional)
Basic graphic design or visual editing skills (e.g. Canva, Adobe Express, or similar tools)
Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills
Highly organised and responsive to time-sensitive posts (e.g., reminders, announcements)
Reliable and aligned with the Club’s mission and values
Accountability
Accountable to the Secretary
Contributes regularly to social media content and engagement
Provides monthly reports on post performance and content recommendations
Commitment
12-month commitment
Approx. 1-3 hours per week, flexible depending on Club activities
Training:
An orientation of club branding, tone and platform access will be provided as well as ongoing support and guidance from the Committee.
