Responsibilities
· Collaborate with the Sr. Technical Designer to maintain sample organization of production PPS and TOP’s, including tracking sample stage status, checking in samples, organizing sample send outs.
· Assist Sr. Technical Designer in preparing for fittings- checking in samples, taking detailed measurements, cross checking previous sample for any changes from factory, and organizing samples
· Participate in live fittings by providing fit and construction feedback, calling out spec discrepancies and taking detailed notes to ensure accuracy.
· Work with factory directly on production tech packs- prepare and communicate clear, concise fit comments using photos, references and sketches to clearly communicate, update specs as needed.
· Assist Sr. Technical Designer in size scale and grading
· Work cross functionally with design team for development tech packs- set up initial style with comprehensive construction comments, fit direction, reference pattern/ garment and initial specs.
· Support cross functional teams by effectively communicating updates and changes throughout the product lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor's Degree:
- A degree in fashion design, technical design, apparel manufacturing, or a related field is often required.
- Experience:
- 2-3 years of experience in technical design, patternmaking, or related roles is generally expected.
- Technical Skills:
- Patternmaking: Basic knowledge of patternmaking is often required.
- Garment Construction: Strong knowledge of garment construction and sewing terminology is essential.
- Software: Experience with industry-standard software like Adobe Illustrator, and Gerber Accumark, or other CAD software is highly valued.
- Tech Pack Creation: Experience in creating technical specification packages (tech packs) on Microsoft Excel is a must.
