POSITION SUMMARY
In this role, you will plan, develop, and review mechanical design work, produce drawings and documentation, and prepare estimates for a project. You will coordinate with clients, facilitate technical discussions, and review and approve drawings, calculations and bid summaries. You will solve complex technical issues and ensure mechanical designs comply with all regulations and standards.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Leads or administers work of Mechanical designers and drafters for a business line technology to include the preparation of layouts, study drawings, detailed 2-D and 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) design models and construction drawings Collaborate effectively with technical staff and project managers to prepare comprehensive project schedules, scopes, and objectives. Utilize technical experience to develop cost estimates, formulate project budgets, and manage resources for optimal alignment with project goals. Provides oversight and input to Process Flow Diagrams (Flowsheets) •Perform early project design work related to facility layout and equipment general arrangement. Develop the capability to navigate 3D models and check for interferences and constructability. Develops designs for complete and complex engineering systems and components used in mining, materials handling and refining facilities with minimum supervision. Prepares or assists with preparation of assigned material requisitions and bid evaluations. Monitors and checks work compliance with approved Mechanical design standards to provide quality design, reliable/safe plant operation and construction economy. Ensures system designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards. Participates in constructability and model reviews Prepares design and drafting procedures to standardize team efforts and processes. Coordinates or makes jobsite visits, as required, to resolve problems and interpret drawings. Reviews Mechanical design Scope Changes, as required, for project management Endorses or prepares reports of work progress, as required, for project and discipline use DIRECTION RECEIVED
Works under general direction. Work is assigned in terms of objectives and is reviewed in terms of adherence to general policies, accuracy of methods and general efficiency. DIRECTION OF OTHERS

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Sound Knowledge of design and drafting techniques, engineering drawings, reading of drawings, and reproduction methods used by the discipline. Experience with multi-discipline interface management and global 3D model oversight Experience with AutoCAD application version 2020 or newer. Familiarity with CADWorx and or Autodesk Plant 3D Must be able to 3D model using previously mentioned software in a complex multi-discipline environment. Experience with modeling of common mechanical equipment on mining and metals projects, including interfaces of equipment with other disciplines. •Expertise in reading, interpreting and using related documents and drawings prepared by other project groups. Knowledge of the application of engineering and construction materials related to design responsibilities Familiarity with NI 43-101 and/or SK1300 reporting and requirements Proficient in basic computing programs including the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS PER JOB LEVEL
Sr. Designer IV completion of trade or technical school program plus at least 10 years relevant experience. Continuing education is preferred. Sr. Designer III - completion of trade or technical school program plus at least 12 years relevant experience. Continuing education is preferred. Sr. Designer II - completion of trade or technical school program plus at least 14 years relevant experience. Continuing education is preferred. Sr. Designer I - completion of trade or technical school program plus at least 15 years relevant experience. Continuing education is preferred.
