Position Summary/Job Duties:
Position Summary:
The Marketing and Event Intern will work closely with Marketing and Events Associate to help with the planning and execution of special events, community engagement efforts, social media management, and graphic design work.
The major duties and responsibilities of this position include:
Shadow Marketing and Events AssociateAssist with implementation of marketing and public relations plans, including updating content on the website and social media posts.Assist with event collateral and marketing content development.Assist with event planning, set-up, implementation, and take down.Help prepare promotional materialsAssist in planning and managing social media sites and the company websiteAssist staff with administrative documentationAttend staff meetingsOther duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Education:
This position is geared toward a junior or senior in college.
Strong interest in events, marketing and communication.Comfortable representing organization at community eventsStrong organizational skills, with keen attention to details as well as excellent problem solving abilities.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with others.Ability to work independently, take initiative, juggle multiple priorities, and perform follow up.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, Canva and Adobe Creative Cloud.Proficiency in or willingness to learn programs such as Wordpress and MailChimp.Experience working with social media platforms (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram).Public relations or marketing experience preferred.Experience planning events is preferred.Ability to work on multiple tasks.Applicant must have reliable transportation.
