Overview
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties may include but are not limited to:
Ensure that all University and departmental branding and marketing standards are followed.Uses knowledge of current graphic design software within Adobe Creative Suite to produce print and digital materials.Meet weekly with supervisor.Assist with edits and updates to previously created designs.Remain abreast of technological advances in the field, identify areas of use in the organization, and stay familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures.Demonstrate basic understanding and usage of typography, color theory, and principles and elements of design in all created pieces.Work on several projects at once, sometimes under pressure and tight deadlines.Complete special projects as assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS
Minimum QualificationsCurrent Liberty University student in good standing with the UniversityAble to work between 12-16 hours a week (between the hours of 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday)Possess a creative mindset, intellectual curiosity, and a desire to learnAble to give and receive creative feedbackKnowledge of Adobe Creative SuiteAbility to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team settingExperience in graphic designMust be detail-oriented and able to work well under pressure, prioritize projects, and meet deadlinesEligible for Federal Work Study, Work Assistant, or International Work Supplement (depending on position)For more information on Federal Work-Study, go here.
Preferred Qualifications
Graphic Design major or similar major/minorPhotography skillsPhotoshop/Editing skillsABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES ESSENTIAL TO THE FUNCTION OF THE JOBCommunication and Comprehension
Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear, well articulated information.Ability to understand, speak, and write English in order to convey messages and correspond in an articulate and professional manner.Possess public communication skills that allow professional representation of Liberty University to a variety of business and community customers and associates.Strong organizational skills.Excellent computer skills.Problem Solving
Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature.Physical and Sensory AbilitiesOccasionally required to sit for extended periods to perform deskwork or type on a keyboard.Regularly required to hear and speak in order to effectively communicate orally.Occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the building.Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel or stoop in order to conduct business.Regularly lift 10 or fewer pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work Environment
The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is a climate-controlled office setting. It is well lit and the noise level is moderate.
