The Chemistry Marketing Manager (CMM) position requires a sophisticated skill set of technical knowledge, field sales, and the creativity of field marketing. The CMM will liaise with the field sales organization in order to achieve annual revenue goals by identifying key markets, geographies, products and opportunities for business development. The position reports into the Americas Field Marketing Organization. As a front-line, hands-on position the CMM coaches and mentors the Chemistry Account Managers, MS Specialists, and Territory Account Managers in the field sales organization to help achieve their annual revenue goals. The CMM should work in collaboration with Waters marketing and sales teams to provide customers workflow solutions that include Waters chemistry, instruments and services.
The territory covers the Americas.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement pharmaceutical related chemistry business plans aligned with the field sales team to drive revenue
Collaborate with the Regional sales teams to launch new products, implement sales strategies, develop sales tactics to drive revenue
Collaborate with appropriate Waters marketing and sales teams to provide customers workflow solutions that include Waters chemistry, instruments and services
Support / help prioritize regional marketing events to drive key Corporate initiatives; deliver technical seminars
Craft effective marketing collateral materials for the sales team in collaboration with the Global Chemistry and Lab Automation groups
Develop and deliver both chemistry product and sales training as appropriate
Attend key trade shows to develop relationships with scientists
Assist in the annual budget process
Achieve annual revenue targets and objectives
Identify markets, geographies, products and opportunities for business development
Implement annual Americas-wide field marketing tactics for new and existing products
Ability to travel up to 35% overnight to support the Americas
Qualifications
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in scientific field, (chemistry, biochemistry preferred) with 5+ years experience in pharma science related industry
Minimum 5 years of experience with application of chromatography, preferably with Waters products
Validated ability to develop and implement business plans
Excellent social skills: communicate optimally, drive execution, foster innovation, focus on the customer, collaborate with others, tackle problems creatively
Maintain professional internal and external relationships that meet Waters core values
Proactively establish and maintain effective working team relationships with all corporate departments
Self-motivated with the ability to flexibly respond to changing demands
Mature disposition, positive attitude and strong sense of dedication
Practical sales experience is an advantage
