Our client is currently seeking a Mechanical Designer
This position is fully onsite in Palo Alto, CA and is a 3 month contract with potential extensions. MUST BE LOCAL AND OK WITH A 3 MONTH CONTRACT
Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer for a short-term contract position. The ideal candidate will be proficient in SolidWorks, capable of designing mechanical parts and assemblies, ordering parts, and assisting with assembly. This role requires a hands-on approach and the ability to quickly translate design concepts into functional components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks.
- Generate detailed engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications.
- Select and order appropriate materials and components.
- Collaborate with engineers and vendors to ensure design feasibility.
- Assist with prototype assembly and testing.
- Troubleshoot and revise designs based on testing and feedback.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling and 2D drafting.
- Experience in mechanical design, fabrication, and assembly.
- Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and tolerances.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Experience with ordering parts and working with suppliers.
- Hands-on mechanical assembly experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with SAP PLM system.
- Experience with AUTOCAD.
- Self-starter with a good work ethic.
- Experience in internal R&D for structural parts.
- Knowledge of FEA (Finite Element Analysis).
- 10 years of experience in the field.
- Must have SolidWorks.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Manufacturing experience.
