Marketing Specialist – Uhlmann Company (Heckers & Ceresota Flour)

About Us:
The Uhlmann Company is a family-owned business that proudly owns and markets two regionally recognized baking flour brands, Heckers Flour and Ceresota Flour. Our products are distributed through foodservice channels (restaurants & bakeries) and retail grocery channels (grocery stores & distributors). As we navigate changes in the retail landscape, we are looking for a Marketing Specialist to expand our direct-to-consumer (DTC) presence, strengthen our brand awareness, and support our existing sales channels.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a creative, data-driven, and hands-on Marketing Specialist to lead our digital and brand marketing efforts. This role will focus on growing our social media presence, enhancing consumer engagement, and launching e-commerce initiatives. The ideal candidate will have experience in CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) marketing, digital advertising, and social media strategy, with a passion for food and baking.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Social Media & Content Marketing
- Develop and manage social media content strategies across platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest).
- Partner with food influencers, bloggers, and bakers to create engaging, user-generated content.
- Plan and execute paid social media campaigns to drive brand awareness and website traffic.
- Create seasonal and recipe-based content to showcase product versatility.
2. E-Commerce & Direct-to-Consumer Strategy
- Research and develop a DTC e-commerce presence, including Amazon storefront optimization and potential Shopify/Walmart Marketplace expansion.
- Manage product listings with SEO-optimized content, compelling images, and enhanced brand content.
- Plan and execute Amazon advertising campaigns to drive traffic and conversions.
- Analyze e-commerce data to improve performance and identify growth opportunities.
3. Retail & Foodservice Channel Support
- Develop marketing materials for grocery stores and distributors, including POP (Point of Purchase) displays and promotional signage.
- Assist the sales team with promotions, email campaigns, and in-store marketing initiatives.
- Conduct market research to identify consumer preferences and emerging trends.
4. Brand Growth & Innovation
- Assist in the launch of new products or brand acquisitions.
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends to ensure brand positioning remains strong.
- Plan and execute email marketing campaigns to engage existing and potential customers.
Qualifications:
· 3+ years of experience in marketing, preferably in CPG, food, or retail industries.
· Proven expertise in social media management, influencer partnerships, and content creation.
· Hands-on experience with Amazon Seller Central, Shopify, and e-commerce marketing strategies.
· Strong SEO and digital advertising skills (Google Ads, Facebook Ads, Amazon PPC).
· Excellent copywriting, storytelling, and communication skills.
· Experience with graphic design tools (Canva, Adobe Suite) is a plus.
· Passion for baking or food industry experience is a bonus!
