This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Interested applicants must follow the directions in the "How to Apply" section of this flyer to be considered.Responsibilities:Serve as a Telecommunication Specialist in the DISA Fleet NOC Plans Division (N61), Communications, Maintenance and Engineering (N6).Act as the technical expert and advisor to the Technical Control Facility Officer and customer activities.Coordinate physical site and technical control facilities Defense Information System Network (DISN) nodes.Advise the Technical Control Officer to ensure operations conform with DISA directives.Represent the command at meetings regarding circuitry establishment and changes.Work with the Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization (DITCO) and local telephone companies to coordinate assignments and maintenance.Plan and coordinate modifications for system improvements or new equipment installations.Requirements:Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job but must demonstrate past experience in the application of the necessary competencies.Qualifying experience includes:Managing circuit activations/deactivations, modifications, and installations of new equipment.Coordinating and monitoring preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment and routers.Resolving communication operating problems with equipment and circuitry.Evaluating and validating links, trunks, and circuits for effective service provision.This position is within the Work Category PROFESSIONAL at Work Level FULL PERFORMANCE, Series and Grade GG-0391-11.Education:Applicants may substitute education for experience, provided it demonstrates the necessary knowledge and skills:Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in relevant fields.Three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D.LL.M. degree related to the position.Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be combined to meet the total qualification requirements.Additional Information:This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled. A tentative offer will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet pre-employment requirements.
