Job Description Summary:
We are looking for a rockstar engineer to spearhead our Identity Platform. As a senior member of the team, you will architect and implement robust solutions to complex problems. Your way to impact:
You will be responsible for working with a team of engineers in design, development, testing, and deployment of a range of products on web and mobile platforms. A successful candidate will have an established background in developing customer-facing experiences, a strong technical ability, excellent project execution skills, great communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced environment.
Your day-to-day:
- Work within a team of highly talented engineers, product, and architects to design and develop a highly scalable and configurable Identity Platform.
- Drive design meetings to propose, discuss, and refine new features and functionality.
- Significant business knowledge and technical expertise in application design and architecture, as well as knowledge of related domains of technical architectures (network, security, and infrastructure engineering).
- Maintain and enhance existing architectural documentation and create new ones as needed.
- Involved in all aspects of the project life cycle, from the initial kickoff through requirements analysis, design, and implementation.
- Self-starter, capable of working independently or as a team member, with strong communication skills in interfacing with business partners.
- Highly analytical, innovative, and able to think strategically to develop comprehensive detailed specifications.
- Experience in engineering support of a product through a PDLC. Working knowledge of finance industry standards and practices preferred.
What you need to bring:
- Expert on open standards such as OAuth 2.0, Open ID Connect, SCIM, FAPI, etc.
- Expert in back-end development using Java EE technologies.
- Strong OOP skills, with the ability to analyze requirements and transform them into scalable software designs.
- Experience with HTTP, REST APIs, and competent designing and building web services/microservices in a commercial setting.
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL/modern database and storage technologies.
- Experience with Design Patterns, MVC, and frameworks.
- Competent in design/implementation for reliability, availability, scalability, and performance.
- Strong advocate of code craftsmanship and good coding standards.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodology for software development.
- Good understanding of web services and SOA related standards.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
- 15+ years of experience building successful production software systems.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in Identity Access Management domain.

PayPal is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Actual Compensation is based on various factors including work location, and relevant skills and experience. The U.S. national annual pay range for this role is $107,300 to $259,600.
For the majority of employees, PayPal's balanced hybrid work model offers 3 days in the office for effective in-person collaboration and 2 days at your choice of either the PayPal office or your home workspace.
