The Graphic Design internship
runs from mid May to late August.
The summer collegiate season officially begins in late May. Qualifications are based on ability, desire, work ethic and a commitment to make the most of the experience. Internships are geared to educate about the entire business of baseball.
Rafters interns receive a $1500 salary for the summer and are expected to maintain a
very challenging
schedule throughout the internship. Interns are expected to be at all home games as well as play key roles in executing special events taking place at Witter Field. Days off are granted throughout the season to help alleviate the challenging schedule.
If a career in sports is what you desire, an internship with a sports team can be a great benefit. Not only is it an important step professionally, but it's also a great way to build relationships and network in a fun, fast paced and exciting environment. Past interns have used their experience with the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters to go on to bigger and better things internally, with another team or in a desired field of interest.
The Graphic Design intern is responsible for running the video board for all Rafters home games, as well as working hand in hand with the front office staff and other interns to create graphics for social media, press releases, webcasts, etc.
Responsibilities:
Work with front office staff to learn video board software and become comfortable running this during each home gameCreate video board slides with in-game content paying close attention to sponsor logos and partnership requirementsAssist Video Production and Digital Marketing interns in creating graphics for website, video production, and Rafters social mediaAssist the Video Production intern in producing video content for use on the video boardCreate Rafters team card set, team poster, and other special projectsCreate motion graphics/animationsAbility to work long hours, including weekendsOther duties as assigned by GM
Required Skills:Experience with Illustrator, PhotoShop, or compared software programs is preferredSelf-motivated, detail-oriented, very organizedAbility to succeed in a team environment
In addition to your specific area of focus, all interns will have the opportunity, although not a requirement, to work with the staff to gain experience in the ticket sales department. Sales tasks will include calling renewals and single-game ticket buyers, creating surveys to gauge the fan experience, answering incoming phone calls, placing ticket orders, and delivering tickets to clients.
