A PLAYDAY Elementary Art teacher is responsible for developing and teaching engaging art classes and projects in accordance to PLAYDAY's class offerings and schedule. Using skills and techniques of artistic expression consistent with PLAYDAY guidelines, the Art Teacher guides children through their creative journey, sharing tidbits of artistic passion and art history along the way. The Art Teacher strives to be a positive, creative and upbeat role-model for all children.
Duties include, and are not limited to:
Plan and develop engaging art classes and projects in accordance to PLAYDAY's class offerings and schedule.Communicate and present class content/project to the manager for approval prior the class.Suggest and propose ideas for specific art projects in accordance to PLAYDAY's curriculum.Led, teach and instruct children various creative art classes and projects at onsite and offsite locations (e.g., park, school, etc.).Prepare for art projects by setting up class and materials in a timely manner.Keep the children engaged / focused on an art project, homework, or any other relevant activity.Led each class activity in accordance with our mission, and our values to Create, Activate and Celebrate.Follow and put into practice all S.O.P.'s and Company policies outlined in our Employee Handbook and on other Company platform.Follow safety and security standards to ensure the safety for all children.Maintain required paperwork and other necessary records.Communicate professionally and in a timely manner with the store manager.Maintain class areas clean during and after classes as well as between projects and at the end of the shift.Pick up children from their schools or bus stops within walking distance to the PLAYDAY location.Maintain a positive uplifting attitude, tune in to projects and provide encouragement, mindfulness, age-appropriate terminology and understanding, interact with children/caregiver as they participate in class.Remain engage and be present in class for the entire duration of the class offering/project.Maintain a positive and professional attitude when engaging with children, parents, caregivers and PLAYDAY staff members.Create a fun and engaging learning environment for the children.Perform duties as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
High school diploma or equivalent required.Degree in the ARTS from an accredited College or University required.A minimum of 1 year experience working with children in the creative field, preferably ages 3-6 years old.Ability to work on weekends.Prior experience in the arts field.Must pass criminal background check.

Open seven days a week, PLAYDAY provides indoor and outdoor Grown Up & Me Art & Musicclasses for children 1-4 as well as After School creative programming, Creative Camp, andcustomized birthday parties for ages 5-12 in a safe small group studio environment with highlyeducated and experienced instructors.
We are in partnership with multiple progressive, pre-schools, and middle schools where ourhighly talented staff also instructs everything from Painting and Textiles to Cartooning andArchitecture.
