Health Editor in Atlanta, GA
Summary
This editor is responsible for ensuring content accuracy, quality, and clarity, managing freelance writers, and communicating with project managers, editorial, medical review, and design stakeholders while prioritizing aggressive deadlines.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and editing assignments delegated to freelance writers.
- Translating complex medical information into plain language.
- Managing development, quality control, and timely delivery of sponsored custom content assignments.
- Ensuring content is accurate, high quality, and adherent to WebMD style guide.
- Facilitating editorial workflows using custom CMS and project management tools.
- Collaborating with editorial, publishing, and medical review stakeholders to develop, publish, and optimize content efficiently and effectively.
Required Skills
- Four or more years of proven experience creating digital health and medical content for a consumer audience.
- Experience not just in writing and editing content, but also in assigning it to other writers and project managing that process.
- Must be currently located in the Atlanta, Georgia area and able to work 3-5 days per week onsite.
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related discipline or equivalent experience.
