Job Description
1. MULTIMEDIA CONTENT MANAGEMENT. Integrate and manage department strategies into multimedia communications for various university audiences. Manage multiple projects from inception to evaluation, including setting objectives; defining requirements; overseeing cost, time, and scope; managing constraints; and communicating progress and results. Develop, plan, create (write, produce, edit, curate) and publish unique digital content for platforms, to include audio (interviews, recordings, soundtracks), visual (video, photography, infographics, digital signage, memes, gifs), and text (blog posts, scripts, news and information, web copy) for web and social media. Operate multimedia equipment, on location or in the studio. Ensure content alignment with the university mission, objectives and brand. Evaluate digital content performance and identify opportunities for new multimedia content to inform University Marketing and Communications strategic planning. Oversee the department's digital content hub, which includes curation of in-house, external and organic digital content for university promotion, management of department keyword libraries and tagging strategies for digital platforms (i.e. blogs, website, photo libraries), and the organization and maintenance of a digital library of video content.
2. MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS COLLABORATION. Collaborate with the WSU Marketing and Communications team to contribute to overarching strategies. Work in consultation with the team to plan, create, and publish unique content for digital platforms. Serve as the expert on multimedia practices and policies within the team. Assist team members with projects related to writing, marketing, new media, institutional image, event participation, media accessibility, web content, multimedia, and digital analytics.
3. Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth functioning of the departments and maintain the reputation of Winona State University. Including but not limited to serving on committees and participating in professional development opportunities.
Salary Range: ASF Range C - 46,372.00 - 93,342.00; Commensurate with qualifications and experience
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, journalism, new media, advertising, communications, or related field.
- Two (2) years of directly related experience in multimedia design and production.
- Experience in video including pre-production (planning and preparation), production (filming) and post-production (editing and finishing). Experience may include on the job and/or education.
Preferred Qualification
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud products (e.g., Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, InDesign)
- Experience operating a variety of photography and camera equipment, including drones, microphones, cameras, lenses, and related accessories, ensuring high-quality production and technical execution in various environments.
- Experience in social media marketing.
- Experience utilizing a content management system.
- Demonstrated ability to take multiple projects from concept to completion while meeting deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate, collaborate and build relations with a wide range of diverse constitutions.
- Ability to take initiative to research and learn new software.
- Ability to train and mentor students effectively.
- Knowledge of media accessibility best practices according to WCAG and ADA.
